Assetera Allows Global Investors to Access Tokenized Stocks
Assetera, a Polygon-powered MiFID-licensed trading platform for blockchain securities in Europe, has introduced a new offering of tokenized assets. This service allows international investors to gain access to some of the most sought-after U.S. companies.
Key Highlights:
- Assetera has launched tokenized trackers for Nvidia, Coinbase, and the S&P 500.
- Future offerings are expected to include Treasury bills, money market funds, and various securities.
Originally announced in a press release, this new capability is designed to facilitate access for non-U.S. investors to these critical financial instruments.
The tokenized trackers will initially comprise shares connected to the Nasdaq-listed Coinbase, Nvidia, renowned in the artificial intelligence sector, and the S&P 500 index.
With its future plans, Assetera aims to introduce additional markets including tokenized Treasury bills, intended for investors focused on liquidity. Other areas of exploration may feature private credit tokens, stablecoins, and more.
The company emphasizes that their service includes Backed's bTokens, representative of shares in the underlying assets. These tokens are fully collateralized, issued following an approved EU prospectus, and allow for continuous trading.
These offerings can be stored in any digital wallet with extensive flexibility and can be traded outside normal market hours using the Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol.
Thomas Labenbacher, CEO of Assetera, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating it reflects their commitment to innovation and investor empowerment globally. Meanwhile, Adam Levi from Backed Finance noted that these services will provide investors access to traditional financial assets in a regulated setup.
The process of asset tokenization integrates blockchain to convert traditional asset values into digital tokens, facilitating around-the-clock access and mobility.
Despite facing hurdles like regulatory uncertainties and security issues, Assetera is addressing these concerns by employing AI-driven monitoring systems to enhance security and transparency.
