Ika Unveils EdDSA Support for Expanded Native Integration Across Multiple Blockchains

Ika has rolled out a mainnet upgrade enabling EdDSA signatures from dWallets, enhancing cross-chain compatibility significantly.

[PRESS RELEASE – Zug, Switzerland, December 4th, 2025]

Ika, the fastest parallel MPC network, today announced a mainnet upgrade that enables EdDSA signatures directly from dWallets, significantly expanding Ika’s native cross-chain coverage to include Solana, Zcash, Cardano, Stellar, Near, and other EdDSA-based ecosystems.

This upgrade extends Ika’s core promise: to control accounts and assets across chains natively without relying on bridges, wrapping, custodians, or trusted signers, now covering a broader set of networks where EdDSA is the standard.

“EdDSA support is a major expansion of what dWallets can control natively,” said Omer Sadika, Co-Founder of Ika. “It brings zero-trust, programmable signing to some of the most important ecosystems in crypto, so developers can orchestrate real cross-chain actions with real native assets, governed by Ika dWallet technology.”
“EdDSA desteği, dWallet’ların yerel olarak kontrol edebileceği şeylerin büyük bir genişlemesidir; bu sıfır güvenli, programlanabilir imzalamayı kriptodaki en önemli ekosistemlere getirir, böylece geliştiriciler gerçek yerel varlıklarla gerçek çapraz zincir eylemlerini düzenleyebilirler, Ika dWallet teknolojisi tarafından yönetilmektedir.”

What This Upgrade Enables

Previously, Ika’s dWallets offered zero-trust signing and programmable control for major ecosystems, including Bitcoin and EVM-compatible networks with ECDSA signatures. Now, with EdDSA enabled at the dWallet signing layer, users can create applications that:

  • Control Solana accounts natively, facilitating cross-chain trading, vaults, payments, and automation without needing wrapped assets.
  • Coordinate Zcash-native actions under programmable dWallet policies, enhancing custody and interoperability for this privacy-centric cryptocurrency.
  • Manage accounts on Cardano, Stellar, and Near with smart contract-based access control, allowing for robust organizational treasury workflows and enforcement of institutional policies.

In essence, dWallets become natively multi-ecosystem signers, providing a coordination layer for policy, composability, and execution logic.

Native Cross-Chain Control

Most cross-chain systems depend on bridges, message relays, wrappers, or trusted intermediaries, leading to various risks (custody concerns, exploits, governance issues) and reduced composability.

Ika’s model is distinct: no bridging of assets is required. Instead, Ika facilitates native signing via dWallets, ensuring transaction authorization is always enforced under zero-trust assumptions.

Once EdDSA is enabled, the same architecture extends to chains that do not support ECDSA but have adopted EdDSA, vastly increasing the range of operations Ika dWallets can perform safely and directly.

How EdDSA Works in Ika’s Zero-Trust Model

Ika’s principles are rooted in its 2PC-MPC cryptographic scheme.

  • User share: maintained and authorized locally by the user
  • Network share: operated by Ika’s decentralized MPC network
Both shares are essential for producing a valid signature, ensuring the full private key is never reconstructed. This mainnet upgrade also supports EdDSA signing, bringing the most advanced security features of Ika’s architecture to a greater range of chains.

Why This Matters for Builders and the Ecosystem

This upgrade enlarges the design space for innovative applications that only Ika can facilitate, including:

  • Universal accounts across ecosystems
  • Cross-chain DeFi using native assets
  • Programmable custody and access control
  • Authentic zero-trust chain abstraction

Availability

The EdDSA-enabled signing upgrade is now active on Ika’s mainnet, supporting dWallet-based signing for Solana, Zcash, Cardano, Stellar, Near, and other EdDSA-compatible networks. Developers can start integrating EdDSA-enhanced dWallet workflows immediately through Ika’s developer resources.
