Netflix Unveils Comedy Film on a Quest for a $35 Million Crypto Password

The upcoming Netflix movie, 'One Attempt Remaining,' showcases a couple's struggle to retrieve millions in cryptocurrency after forgetting their password.

Netflix has announced its latest comedy feature titled One Attempt Remaining, which follows a couple’s comedic struggle to remember a password necessary to access their cryptocurrency fortune. This film humorously reflects the real-life challenges faced by crypto investors.

In a recent post, Netflix revealed that Jennifer Garner will be starring in this lighthearted narrative. The plot revolves around a divorced couple who, after realizing that they collectively own cryptocurrency valued at millions from a cruise win, find themselves stumped by a forgotten password.

As specified by What’s on Netflix, the narrative includes a 48-hour deadline to recover $35 million from their crypto wallet, with a notice from the US Securities and Exchange Commission looming over their heads.

The film takes inspiration from actual crypto-related incidents, particularly recounting the trials of Stefan Thomas, who famously lost access to 7,002 Bitcoin stored in a hard drive, erasing its data after multiple incorrect password attempts.

Additionally, while cryptocurrencies have pervaded popular culture through various films and series, they rarely take center stage in major film productions. Notable examples include Money Plane (2020) and Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King (2022).

One well-known case involves James Howells, a Welsh entrepreneur who lost a hard drive containing keys to 8,000 BTC, mistakenly thrown away in a UK landfill in 2013. After years of attempting to search for the lost drive, he has run into numerous legal barriers.
