The Pi Network Core Team continues its engagement with users as the holiday season approaches, announcing new initiatives aimed at fostering community interaction.

The team communicated two key announcements last week. The first involved updates to the Pi Network decentralized exchange (DEX) and the Automated Market Maker (AMM), focusing on integrating PI-denominated liquidity pairs. This move positions the Pi token as the primary base asset on the DEX, reflecting trends from established decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms.

These enhancements are designed to reduce price volatility and slippage during trades, ensuring better price discovery and a more user-friendly interface for newcomers.

The second announcement focuses on fostering small PI-based businesses with the Community Commerce Initiative, aimed at promoting real-world use of the token.

App developers have the opportunity to create promotions for the holiday season, allowing users to find participating merchants and explore offers through Pi eco-friendly commerce applications.

Moreover, the team shared that 100 users will win branded merchandise as part of the celebrations, distributed via a third-party provider globally.

PI Price Update

Despite these developments, PI’s price struggles continue as it hovers close to the $0.20 mark. The token aimed for $0.21 recently but has experienced substantial declines since hitting a peak in February. Overall, PI has fallen over 93% from its all-time high.

The number of tokens set to unlock in the coming month has slightly decreased, highlighting potential market challenges were ahead. Meanwhile, December 25 will see the largest token release of nearly nine million.
