Users of Pi Network Express Frustration After Team's Celebration Post

The Pi Network community expresses dissatisfaction following a celebratory announcement from the Core Team, feeling that progress has been lacking.

Although the Pi Network was established over seven years ago, it officially launched its native token barely a year back. Throughout this time, the Core Team has made several updates, integrating AI technologies and attempting to enhance certain functionalities, yet the outcomes have been somewhat inconsistent.

The recent announcement from the Core Team was intended to focus on positive achievements while recognizing a significant part of the Pi community. However, it was met with a wave of criticism almost immediately.

Recognizing Pi Network Moderators

“Every First Friday of February (FFF day), Pi celebrates Moderator Appreciation Day! Today is about recognizing the moderators who make the Pi Network community what it is. Thanks to all Pi moderators for their incredible volunteer efforts in supporting the Pi community—assisting…” — Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) February 6, 2026

The announcement aimed to highlight the moderators who “shape Pi Network’s community,” emphasizing their volunteer contributions and that they are not compensated by the Core Team. They manage chats, respond to users’ inquiries, oversee Pi apps and products, report bugs, and assess new features. Moreover, they assist with translations and ensure constructive conversation in forums.

“Behind answered questions, updates, and chatrooms, Moderators help ensure the Pi experience runs smoothly for everyone!”

Community Reactions

The statement about moderators drew attention from several Pi Network users. Although many acknowledged the necessity of recognizing moderators, others voiced concerns about the apparent slowdown in actual advancements.

User Joann&Joe urged the Core Team to “accelerate progress—it’s been prolonged repeatedly,” criticizing the message as superficial. Likewise, Chialo20 mentioned feeling held back from migrating his Pi coins for over seven years, deeming the situation unfair. Meanwhile, A. A. Gada reminded the Core Team that many users remained stuck in ‘tentative approval’ during the KYC process, hoping for a resolution.

Notably, the Core Team recently claimed to have unblocked millions for mainnet migration, with promised changes expected shortly.
