Arthur Hayes Disposes of Various DeFi Tokens: Detailed Breakdown

Former BitMEX CEO Arthur Hayes has liquidated several high-value DeFi tokens. Here’s a comprehensive look at the moves.

Arthur Hayes, recognized for his role as the BitMEX CEO, recently executed significant transfers of multiple altcoins, predominantly in the DeFi sector, attracting the scrutiny of monitoring services like Lookonchain.

Considering his past behavior of selling tokens during market volatility, experts speculate he offloaded $1.06 million in ENA, $954,000 in ETHFI, and $1.14 million in PENDLE.

Previously, in August of last year, Hayes executed considerable liquidations, stating at that time that a significant market correction was imminent. Contrary to his predictions, the market moved upwards, with certain assets like ETH gaining substantial value shortly after.

Just a few days later, he expressed regret over his actions via a post on X, revealing he was forced to reacquire these assets at inflated prices and publicly apologizing to the Ethereum community, promising not to take profits from ETH again.

In November, further investigations by Lookonchain indicated he had sold 520 ETH for approximately $1.66 million alongside additional ENA and ETHFI disposals.

Earlier in late December 2025, another report indicated that he sold more ETH and reinvested in PENDLE, LDO, ENA, and ETHFI. Should he have divested the DeFi tokens, it could lead to significant losses given the recent market downturn.
