The Implications for Cryptocurrency
Previously reported by CryptoPotato, Musk’s aim to transform social media into a comprehensive service platform is taking shape with X Money. This application is expected to introduce new payment features designed to seamlessly integrate financial services into the social media experience.
Until now, the application was undergoing a closed internal beta testing phase.
Screenshots released from the popular actor William Shatner have hinted that X Money may include offerings like cashback debit cards, as well as payment transfer capabilities.
However, a critical question persists: will X Money include support for cryptocurrencies? Musk has a history of affecting the crypto markets with his statements, especially regarding Dogecoin, and has previously enabled Bitcoin transactions for Tesla purchases. He has also suggested broader financial functionalities for this platform.
Musk even recently amplified a post discussing possible crypto support, hinting that this initiative could be substantial, although no formal confirmation has been received about such integrations.
