Revolut Advances UK Bank Initiative Following License Approval

Revolut takes significant steps towards launching its UK bank as licensing restrictions are lifted.

The well-known crypto-friendly digital bank, Revolut, has announced its upcoming launch in the UK. According to an official statement from the company, the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) has decided to remove restrictions on Revolut’s banking license.

As a result, the introduction of the local bank will be supported by an impressive customer base of over 13 million users in the UK. Additionally, this initiative follows Revolut’s commitment to invest up to $4 billion and create at least 1,000 high-skilled jobs in the region.

Revolut’s co-founder and CEO expressed his thoughts on this pivotal moment:

“Launching our UK bank has been a long-term strategic priority for Revolut, and marks a significant moment in our journey. The UK is our home market and central to our growth. We look forward to introducing a full suite of banking services to our millions of UK customers, bringing the same innovative experience we already provide across the rest of Europe. This is a vital step in our mission to build the world’s first truly global bank.”

The rollout of the banking services will occur gradually, starting with a small group of existing customers in the coming days and expanding over subsequent weeks.
