Bitget Launches Jambo's Crypto Phones to Foster Decentralized Services

Bitget LaunchX supports Jambo's initiative to raise $5 million for enhancing decentralized service access through innovative crypto smartphones.

On January 17, 2025, Bitget announced their upcoming LaunchX event for Jambo, which aims to raise $5 million through a token sale to facilitate its satellite launch program. This program intends to connect a global network of JamboPhones, thereby broadening access to decentralized services.

The JamboPhone is described as an affordable, high-spec device pre-installed with Web3 applications, allowing users to participate in decentralized finance, gaming, and various earning opportunities. The integration of a satellite program is designed to ensure uninterrupted user data access, even in remote locations with limited internet connectivity.

Having sold over 700,000 units in 2024, Jambo is strategically extending Web3 technologies to emerging markets. The forthcoming satellite program marks a critical step toward seamlessly integrating borderless data access for JamboPhone users worldwide.

Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget commented, “Jambo’s vision of connecting the world through blockchain and mobile innovation aligns perfectly with our plan to support transformative projects. By facilitating Jambo’s satellite program through LaunchX, we aim to empower their efforts in bridging the digital divide and unlocking the potential of Web3 for emerging markets.”

Are Smartphones Like Jambo Phone Key To Blockchain’s Breakthrough?

The emergence of Web3 smartphones is garnering significant attention as users explore their potential. These devices familiarize regular users with advanced Web3 tools, making them ideal gateways for broader Web3 adoption.

Equipped with built-in Web3 wallets, user-friendly private key management, and seamless access to decentralized application services, Web3 smartphones allow for easy utilization of Web3 services on the go.

Additionally, Web3 smartphones could eliminate intermediary roles. Currently, centralized app stores demand up to 30% in fees, impacting developers’ revenues negatively and hindering the market’s progression. The decentralized frameworks within Web3 phones could serve to rectify this situation.

Beyond Web3: Exploring Next Frontier Of Decentralization

The global Web3 market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 44%, reaching $5.5 billion by 2030. This growth signals increasing investments in decentralized systems and rising adoption of blockchain-based technologies.

Initially, Web3 proposed decentralization, fundamentally transforming system interactions. Today, the emphasis shifts toward sustainable technologies, integrating eco-friendly consensus models and energy-efficient blockchain protocols to reduce the environmental consequences associated with decentralized systems.

As security becomes a crucial aspect in today’s rapidly evolving financial landscape, reusable KYC (Know Your Customer) processes are emerging. They leverage verifiable user data applicable across multiple platforms, thereby streamlining operations, reducing costs, and enhancing user experiences. Especially for fintech and banking entities, this presents considerable advantages.

As decentralized identity solutions grow in relevance, leading corporations and consulting firms are moving to expedite their implementation. Companies such as KPMG, Settlemint, and Mastercard are at the forefront, integrating decentralized identity solutions across various industries and paving the way for a more secure and effective future.
