On January 23, 2025, StashAway made a significant announcement, adding Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) options for its users in Malaysia. This initiative opens a regulated avenue for users to invest in these leading cryptocurrencies.
With Trump, the 47th US President, advocating for pro-crypto regulations, investor interest in digital assets is growing. However, many remain cautious about crypto investments due to concerns over security and the complexities of navigating crypto exchanges.
“Many of our clients have expressed interest in the long-term potential of major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin but have been hesitant because of security concerns or the complexities of navigating crypto exchanges,” said Wong Wai Ken, country manager for StashAway Malaysia.
StashAway’s Flexible Portfolios now allow users to mix crypto assets with other investments like stocks and bonds, aiming for a more diversified portfolio.
Aside from StashAway, other platforms like Cross Light Capital and Affin Bank are also engaged in the Malaysian crypto ETF market, indicating an increase in competition as the region embraces digital assets. Investors are encouraged to consider long-term strategies in their investment plans.
