The Brazilian stock exchange B3 is set to expand its cryptocurrency offerings by introducing options on Bitcoin (BTC) and futures contracts for Ether (ETH) and Solana (SOL).
This enhancement is expected to launch sometime this year, as confirmed by the CEO Gilson Finkelsztain in an interview with local media. The exchange has witnessed a trading volume of around R$5 billion (approximately $860 million) per month since the addition of Bitcoin futures contracts in April of the previous year.
In contrast, figures from Brazilian cryptocurrency market tracking service Biscoint indicate that traditional exchanges achieved a total trading volume of R$6.66 billion (about $1.13 billion) in the first month of this year.
B3 remains Brazil’s principal stock exchange, where numerous crypto-based exchange-traded products coexist alongside equities and bonds.
