Is a Pardon in the Cards for Sam Bankman-Fried? Efforts to Lobby Trump Begin

Sam Bankman-Fried seeks clemency from President Trump as he serves a lengthy prison sentence for financial misconduct.

Sam Bankman-Fried, the former founder of FTX who now serves time for his financial crimes, is attempting to secure a pardon from former President Donald Trump. Once an upstanding Democratic Party financier, Bankman-Fried’s approach has changed dramatically as he now supports the GOP, claiming frustration with the Biden administration. His parents are actively lobbying for his clemency while he speaks out against his court’s presiding judge.

A Public Desperate Shift For Sam Bankman-Fried

In a series of interviews from Brooklyn prison, Bankman-Fried criticized the Democratic Party as “destructive” and voiced his newfound alignment with Republican values, including a call for significant budget cuts.

“I became really frustrated and disappointed with what I saw from the Biden administration and the Democratic Party,” stated Bankman-Fried.

“Some things actually do need more than a 10% cut; they need a 30, 50, 70% [cut], but of course, they need to be rebuilt correctly.”

The Nature of His Players

His parents, Joseph and Barbara, are advocating for a presidential pardon, echoing the narrative of past pardons given by Trump to notable figures within the crypto world. The complexities around crypto and politics intensify with Bankman-Fried’s battle and whether his plea for clemency gains traction remains uncertain.
