The team behind the Mavryk Network, a blockchain focused on real-world assets, announced it secured $5.2 million to propel its initiatives in RWA tokenization and decentralized finance (DeFi). The investment round was reported in a communication with CoinDesk on Tuesday.

Mavryk Dynamics aims to simplify RWA tokenization and integrate it with DeFi, thus making the ownership of digital assets easier for users. The platform’s testnet provides users the opportunity to explore decentralized applications (dapps), acquire fractional test shares of RWAs, give feedback, and earn rewards.

The platform also features an on-chain protocol treasury and liquidity mining, as well as a new RWA token standard coupled with various decentralized exchanges (DEXs) for non-custodial trading and lending.

Tokenization technology, which involves creating blockchain-based tokens representing ownership of traditional assets, is becoming increasingly popular among institutions seeking to enhance operational efficiencies. Reports project that the tokenized RWA market could grow to trillions of dollars over the next decade, according to insights from firms like McKinsey and BCG.
