A coalition of prominent cryptocurrency and blockchain entities has united to offer open artificial intelligence (AI) services backed by combined infrastructure.

The Open Agents Alliance (OAA) includes NEAR AI, the AI and payments sectors of the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, along with various other blockchain and AI-focused initiatives.

The alliance aims to “ensure secure, open source, economical, and fair AI access,” according to a statement released Thursday.

The member organizations will provide integrated systems, such as AI agent frameworks and cloud hosting, to facilitate development and deployment of AI tools. Cryptocurrencies and blockchain efforts have increasingly sought to engage with the growing trend of AI in recent years, aiming to foster transparency and equity through decentralized solutions.
