Deutsche Telekom's Subsidiary Joins Injective Blockchain as Validator
Deutsche Telekom MMS has become a validator for the Injective blockchain, underlining the firm's commitment to blockchain technology and its impact on the institutional space.
Deutsche Telekom MMS, a subsidiary of Europe’s telecommunications leader, Deutsche Telekom, has officially joined the Injective blockchain as a validator. This strategic move strengthens Deutsche Telekom’s role in the expanding blockchain sector and emphasizes the growing institutional interest in Web3 technologies.
According to a blog post from Injective on February 27, Deutsche Telekom MMS will not only validate transactions but also propose blocks and take part in on-chain governance to enhance network security and decentralization.
Strengthening Blockchain Security and Governance
Eric Chen, the CEO of Injective, acknowledged the importance of Deutsche Telekom’s involvement, stating:
“This is yet another example of Web3 becoming more institutional and fully integrated into a society that understands the reliability and security that decentralized blockchain offers, especially in financial matters.”
Oliver Nyderle, the head of Web3 infrastructure at Deutsche Telekom MMS, mirrored these sentiments, outlining the company’s goal to foster true decentralization and leverage its infrastructure to enhance the security of Injective.
As a validator, Deutsche Telekom MMS will stake INJ tokens to assist in validating transactions, ensuring cross-chain interoperability, and voting on governance proposals. This makes Deutsche Telekom the 60th validator for Injective, joining notable players like Binance Staking and Kraken.
“Today, Deutsche Telekom MMS joins Injective’s validator set. This collaboration bridges traditional enterprise with blockchain tech, reinforcing Injective as the leading institutional-friendly Layer 1 network,” announced Injective on their Twitter.
Operating broadband and mobile networks in over 50 countries, Deutsche Telekom serves 252 million mobile customers globally and has continuously expanded into blockchain infrastructure through its subsidiary.
Founded in 1995 originally for TV software development, Deutsche Telekom MMS has transitioned into a broader IT and blockchain service provider, recently validating for Polygon and Celo, and actively engaging in Bitcoin mining as well.
Injective Continues to Expand Presence in Web3
Injective is an interoperable layer-1 blockchain heavily backed by Binance and other major investors like Jump Crypto and Mark Cuban. With a total value locked at approximately $39.48 million and over 1 billion on-chain transactions, Injective has positioned itself as a formidable player in the blockchain space.
Overall, Deutsche Telekom’s entry into Injective not only symbolizes a deeper dive into blockchain but also mirrors a wider trend among major companies recognizing the potential of decentralized technologies in driving broader adoption.
