Mark Botnick Resigns as Sam Bankman-Fried's Crisis Manager Following Interview

Crisis manager Mark Botnick has quit his role with Sam Bankman-Fried after an unexpected interview with Tucker Carlson raised concerns.

Sam Bankman-Fried’s (SBF) crisis manager, Mark Botnick, is reported to have resigned from his position after the FTX founder’s interview with Tucker Carlson.

The unexpected release of the interview, which took place while SBF is serving a 25-year prison sentence, caused significant concern as Botnick was unaware of the interview prior to its airing.

Botnick began his role representing SBF after the notorious collapse of the FTX exchange in November 2022. His resignation was announced on March 7, 2025, after the interview was made public.

Botnick’s decision to terminate his service came amidst ongoing speculation regarding SBF’s endeavors to reconnect with the Republican Party and potentially seek a pardon from Donald Trump. Recent discussions between SBF and Carlson highlighted Bankman-Fried’s shifts in political support and views on past administrations.

In light of the media exposure from his prison interviews, including discussions of his time shared with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, the dynamics of SBF’s public persona remain under scrutiny. The impression that SBF may be plotting a public relations comeback raises questions about his strategy behind these media appearances.

Botnick’s position on the matter has not yet been officially commented on following his departure.
