Metaplanet Expands Its Bitcoin Holdings with a $13.5 Million Acquisition and Bond Launch

The Japanese hotel chain has invested in additional Bitcoin while issuing zero-interest bonds.

Japanese hotel company Metaplanet has acquired 162 Bitcoin (BTC) for $13.5 million, paying an average price of $83,123 per Bitcoin. This purchase has brought its year-to-date Bitcoin yield to 53.2% for 2025.

The Bitcoin yield reflects the change in the ratio of Bitcoin holdings relative to fully diluted shares outstanding over a specified timeframe. As of March 12, Metaplanet possesses 3,050 BTC, valued at $253.7 million, with an average acquisition cost of $83,180 per BTC.
