Sam Altman and Razer Team Up to Combat Gaming Bot Issues

The collaboration introduces a new mechanism for identifying real gamers, aiming to improve fairness in online gaming.

Overview

Sam Altman’s initiative, World Network, is collaborating with Razer, a well-known gaming hardware company, to develop new features that will help eliminate bots from video games.

Key Points

  • The new feature, Razer ID verified by World ID, acts as a unified sign-in system verifying real human players against bots.
  • The collaboration addresses the increasing presence of AI tools in gaming environments, which can lead to unfair advantages.

According to a study from Echelon Insights, around 59% of gamers reported regularly encountering unauthorized bots in their games, causing significant disruptions in gameplay. World Network stated: “Game developers now have a tool to build dynamic spaces where real players —not bots— dominate the digital landscape.”

The first game to implement this feature will be TOKYO BEAST, set in a futuristic version of Tokyo. Players will log in using a World-verified Razer ID, ensuring a genuine multiplayer experience.

“As AI continues to reshape the gaming world, we want to empower gamers and game developers with the tools they need to navigate this transformation safely and confidently,” said Wei-Pin Choo.
