
Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has increased its investment in bitcoin mining company Bitdeer to 21%.
- The acquisition was financed through Tether’s working capital, following an initial investment of $100 million in May 2024, according to an SEC filing.
- Tether is diversifying its investments after achieving record profits, including stakes in Juventus FC and a proposed majority stake in Adecoagro.

Tether first acquired a position in Bitdeer last May with its original investment, notably owning 21% after this increase. Currently, Bitdeer’s stock trades at $10.56 on Nasdaq, remaining stable pre-market.
