Binance's Changpeng Zhao Joins Pakistan Crypto Council as Market Faces Turmoil

Changpeng Zhao, the founder of Binance, has been appointed as an advisor to the Pakistan Crypto Council during a major downturn in the country's stock market.

Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance, has joined the Pakistan Crypto Council as an advisor during a significant decline in the Pakistan Stock Market. The KSE-100 Index plummeted by 3,882 points, triggering trading pauses due to circuit breakers. This situation raises questions about the role of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology in driving growth and attracting investment in Pakistan.

Zhao’s inclusion in the council comes as the Pakistani government seeks foreign investment and aims to modernize its financial systems using blockchain technology. The Pakistan Crypto Council, established in March 2025, is a government-backed initiative focused on integrating digital assets into the nation’s economy.

“Pakistan is opening its doors to the future of finance,” stated Bilal Bin Saqib, CEO of the council, highlighting Zhao’s potential contributions to guiding regulatory frameworks for cryptocurrencies.

As the stock exchange faces difficulties, Zhao’s expertise could provide crucial support in establishing regulations conducive to innovation while adhering to international standards regarding anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing.

The crash of the Pakistan Stock Exchange emphasizes the urgency behind the PCC’s mission, with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin positioned as potential solutions for economic stability. The goal is to attract investment, foster trust, and transform the financial landscape for both traders and general citizens.
