Traders Manipulate AI Bot to Inflate Meme Coin Linked to Brian Armstrong's Dog

An unusual spike in the price of the meme coin RUSSELL was connected to traders spamming an AI bot linked to Coinbase's CEO's dog.

RUSSELL, a meme coin, saw a brief surge on Wednesday following a tweet from the AI bot Truth Terminal in response to a post from Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase, whose dog is named Russell.

The bot's tweet came after multiple submissions of the term "Russell," which led many to suggest that traders who had acquired a significant amount of RUSSELL quickly sold off their holdings once the price increased.

Andy Ayrey, the operator of Truth Terminal, confirmed via X that the word "Russell" was indeed being spammed, prompting the AI bot to include it in its output.
