Tether Partners with LINE to Promote USDT in Asia

Tether and LINE have teamed up to facilitate the use of USDT within LINE's app, enabling users to engage in stablecoin transactions seamlessly.

Tether, known for its USDT stablecoins, has joined forces with LINE, a leading messaging application, to enhance the use of USDT across Asia.

This partnership, announced on May 7, 2025, will allow users to send and receive USDT via LINE’s messaging platform. The stablecoin will be integrated into LINE’s Mini DApp ecosystem and self-custodial wallet, making it easier for users to interact with digital currencies in a familiar setting.

LINE is particularly popular in Asian nations such as Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, and Indonesia, boasting about 196 million monthly users. This integration will facilitate in-app payments and cross-border transactions using USDT directly within the app.

This initiative was highlighted by Tether’s CEO, Paolo Ardoino: “Through LINE NEXT’s blockchain infrastructure, over 200 million LINE users will now have a straightforward way to engage with digital assets in everyday life.”

Furthermore, Sam Seo, Chair of the Kaia DLT Foundation, emphasized that this collaboration aims to deliver the “fastest, easiest, and most reliable” USDT experience for LINE users, DeFi applications, and centralized exchanges.

“LINE NEXT’s adoption of USDT will help establish a dollar-based gateway in Asia,” stated Youngsu Ko, CEO of LINE NEXT.
