Standard Chartered to Support FalconX with Banking Services for Enhanced International Transactions

Standard Chartered has started offering banking services to institutional broker FalconX, aiming to streamline cross-border transactions.

Key Highlights:

  • Standard Chartered has begun providing banking services for FalconX, an institutional prime broker.
  • This collaboration will grant FalconX access to a variety of currency pairs, enhancing both the speed and reliability of its international transactions.

Standard Chartered (STAN) is now offering its banking services to the institutional prime broker FalconX, which is based in San Mateo, California. This new partnership will facilitate smoother cross-border settlements by providing a spectrum of currency options. FalconX stated in an announcement that this is set to boost its operational efficiency.

Prime brokers play a critical role in financial markets, extending services like financing, trading, and custody to major institutions. FalconX aims to merge the worlds of traditional finance and cryptocurrency, achieving service levels comparable to traditional finance institutions. The prime broker intends to leverage Standard Chartered’s banking capabilities as a gateway to attract a wider range of institutional clients including asset managers, hedge funds, token issuers, and payment platforms.

Standard Chartered is already entrenched in the crypto space, holding a majority stake in Zodia Custody, a digital asset custodian, along with its affiliated exchange, Zodia Markets.
