Fastex Expands Operations in the U.S. with New Los Angeles Office

Fastex, a Dubai-based cryptocurrency exchange, is establishing an office in Los Angeles, California, as part of its efforts to expand in the United States.

Key Information:

  • The exchange plans to provide spot trading services for cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and its own Fasttoken, aiming to cater to both retail and institutional investors in the U.S.
  • This move is largely influenced by the more lenient regulatory environment established under President Donald Trump’s administration, despite the absence of a rigid legal framework for cryptocurrencies.

Fastex’s Chief Legal Officer, Vardan Khachatryan, mentioned in an interview that the SEC’s softened regulatory approach has significantly influenced their expansion decision, although risks remain.

“There has been enough of a policy change, at least in terms of how the U.S. government is viewing things, that allowed us to go for this. It’s still kind of a risk, but it’s a lower risk.”
“Достаточно изменений в политике, по крайней мере, в том, как правительство США на это смотрит, что позволило нам на это пойти. Это все еще своего рода риск, но это меньший риск.”

With other crypto companies also shifting back to the U.S. due to these favorable policies, cities such as New York are eager to attract expanding firms.

While Khachatryan noted that New York would be an ideal headquarters location, he highlighted the challenges of obtaining a BitLicense, which is notoriously difficult.

“I hope that things will change a bit,” Khachatryan remarked.
“Надеюсь, что ситуация немного изменится.”

New York City’s Mayor, Eric Adams, known for his pro-crypto stance, called for the termination of the BitLicense during his remarks at the Bitcoin 2025 event in Las Vegas.

Fastex is currently located in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and aims to secure a license from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) as part of its growth plans for the future, which also include potential expansion into Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico.
