World Chain Introduces Native USDC and Circle’s Cross-Chain Service

World Network’s blockchain, backed by Sam Altman, now features natively minted USDC—Circle’s stablecoin. This integration allows users increased flexibility in managing their USDC across multiple blockchains.

Key Points:

  • About 2 million USDC holders on the World Network have been transitioned to native USDC issued directly by Circle.
  • Businesses can utilize Circle Mint for direct conversions between fiat and USDC on the blockchain, facilitating global transactions without reliance on third-party services.

As of today, the World Network has also adopted Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP V2), which enables the seamless movement of USDC among various blockchains.

According to an official statement, previously held bridged USDC has been converted to native USDC. This functionality is expected to enhance global financial interactions and support cross-chain commerce.

The increasing demand for stablecoins, highlighted by their diverse applications in cryptocurrency markets, underscores the significance of this upgrade for the World Network user community. This development aligns with the broader trend toward decentralized finance (DeFi), maximizing the potential for rapid fund transfers and usability across financial ecosystems.
