
XRP Celebrates 12-Year Achievement as Whale Count Surpasses 2,700, Holding Over 1M XRP According to Onchain Data
The payments-focused cryptocurrency has gained just 7.5% this year.
The number of whale wallets that hold large amounts of XRP has reached an all-time high, signaling confidence in the cryptocurrency’s price potential.
According to blockchain analytics firm Santiment, “There are now over 2,700 whale & shark wallets holding at least 1M XRP for the first time in the asset’s 12 plus year history.”
Additionally, the average daily activity of XRP addresses has exceeded 295,000 over the past week, a substantial increase from the average of 35,000-40,000 during the last three months.
XRP is the cryptocurrency primarily used by the fintech company Ripple to facilitate cross-border transactions. As of now, the cryptocurrency is trading flat at around $2.23, noting a 7% increase for the year, as reported by CoinDesk.
