What You Need to Know
- The pro-Israel hacker collaboration Gonjeshke Darande has published the complete source code of the Iranian crypto platform Nobitex after executing a massive $100 million hack.
- This leak could jeopardize users’ funds due to the exposure of the platform’s backend security vulnerabilities.
- Nobitex has indicated that it intends to restore services within five days despite ongoing internet issues in Iran.
Key Developments
The Gonjeshke Darande group released the full Nobitex source code shortly after orchestrating a significant exploitation across various blockchains amidst rising tensions in the region. This action has raised alarms among users who still have funds stored on the platform, as the availability of the code makes it easier for malicious entities to access and exploit vulnerabilities.
In their announcement, the hacker collective noted:
“Time’s up - full source code linked below. ASSETS LEFT IN NOBITEX ARE NOW ENTIRELY OUT IN THE OPEN.” بازمانده دارایی های شما در نوبیتکس هم اکنون در معرض دید و خطر هستند
The release includes critical operational scripts, privacy settings, and details about server infrastructure, effectively dismantling the exchange’s back-end security. The group accused Nobitex of facilitating Iran’s ability to bypass international sanctions, dubbing it the regime’s preferred tool for violating those sanctions.
Over $90 million worth of digital assets from Bitcoin, EVM, Ripple, Dogecoin, Solana, and other cryptocurrencies were deliberately sent to burner wallets, making recovery highly improbable.
Nobitex assured the public that no additional losses occurred after the leak and reaffirmed its commitment to restoring services despite the challenges posed by internet disruptions.
