
Metaplanet Surpasses Tesla and Coinbase to Secure 5th Position as Largest Corporate Bitcoin Holder
Metaplanet expands its Bitcoin holdings, now totaling 13,350 BTC, as it plans further purchases.
Metaplanet has gained attention by rapidly increasing its Bitcoin reserves. The Japanese firm now possesses 13,350 Bitcoin, making it the fifth-largest corporate Bitcoin holder worldwide, surpassing renowned companies such as Tesla and Coinbase.
In a significant transaction, Metaplanet has executed a $108 million acquisition of 1005 BTC, boosting its total holdings from 3,350 BTC to 13,350 BTC in just three months. This achievement is part of an aggressive acquisition strategy that has gained momentum.
CEO Simon Gerovich mentioned on his social media:

In addition, Metaplanet is planning to issue ¥30 billion ($207 million) in 0% ordinary bonds to finance future Bitcoin acquisitions.
Gerovich confirmed that Metaplanet is committed to expanding its Bitcoin treasury at an unprecedented pace. The company’s Bitcoin yield has reported a striking 129.4% this quarter and 348.8% year-to-date for 2025.
