
Metaplanet Expands Bitcoin Holdings with Additional 2,205 BTC Acquisition
Japan-based Metaplanet has successfully purchased an additional 2,205 bitcoin as part of its ongoing treasury strategy, bringing the total holdings to 15,555 BTC as disclosed on Monday.
Key Details:
- The firm acquired the new Bitcoin at an average price of approximately 15.64 million yen per bitcoin, totaling around 34.49 billion yen (or $213 million).
- For the quarter ending June 30, Metaplanet reported a BTC Yield of 95.6%, building upon a previous yield of 309.8%.
- This new acquisition pushes Metaplanet’s overall Bitcoin investment to approximately 225.82 billion yen (equivalent to $1.38 billion) with a blended average purchase price of 14.52 million yen per BTC.
Metaplanet employs a unique metric, BTC Yield, to measure shareholder value in association with dilution. The yield represents the percentage change in bitcoin holdings calculated per fully diluted share, highlighting the implications of treasury actions. This metric is accompanied by BTC Gain and BTC Yen Gain, which translate the yield into potential BTC increases and performance in yen, respectively, for investors.
