Residents of Lugano discovered the absence of the Satoshi Nakamoto statue, which was a creative illusion designed by Italian artist Valentina Picozzi. This statue was part of Lugano’s initiative to establish itself as a significant Bitcoin center, having been introduced in 2024.

A call for information regarding the statue is made by Satoshigallery, which has pledged a reward of 0.1 BTC for any leads to its recovery.

The statue was originally unveiled on October 25, 2024, at Plan B’s Bitcoin forum in Lugano. Its disappearance was first noted by a user on X, suggesting it might have been discarded in a nearby lake.

In an announcement on X, Satoshigallery stated, “We are offering 0.1 BTC to anyone who assists us in recovering the Statue of Satoshi Nakamoto that was stolen yesterday in Lugano… You can steal our symbol, but you will never be able to steal our souls. We are all in this together.”

This incident comes shortly after the unveiling of another Satoshi Nakamoto statue in Tokyo, Japan.
