Externally offered rewards enable protocols to issue native tokens or points directly through the Symbiotic system, integrating these incentives with Symbiotic Points, the protocol’s economic coordination method. This enhancement aims to assist networks in securing investments, evolving incentive strategies, and more, all from a single interface that provides a unified view of economic involvement.

“This launch is a pivotal moment for Symbiotic and the broader shared security ecosystem,” said Misha Putiatin, co-founder of Symbiotic, in a press release. “Shared security is something we’ve been steadily building toward, and external rewards are proof of that work compounding. Each new primitive or feature we ship strengthens the foundation for others to build on.”

Several protocols are already utilizing this feature. For instance, Hyperlane, an interoperability protocol, currently rewards stakers involved in its cross-chain Warp Routes with $HYPER tokens.

Symbiotic’s framework supports a variety of staking forms, from liquid restaked assets such as ETH to hybrid and native strategies, aiming to transform the landscape of cryptoeconomic coordination in modular ecosystems.
