Starknet to Launch Staking on Ethereum Layer-2 by Month's End
Starkware announces the introduction of a staking feature on its Starknet blockchain, allowing participants to earn rewards starting November 26.
Starknet, a notable layer-2 project on Ethereum, has declared plans to roll out a staking feature for its main network on November 26.
The main developer behind Starknet, StarkWare, revealed in July that they would introduce a staking proposal, although they had not specified a rollout date until now.
According to the Starknet team, validators will need a minimum of 20,000 STRK tokens (approximately $9,610) to operate nodes, while delegators must hold STRK tokens to select validators for their staking.
Participation in staking will be open to all users. The team also indicated that both validators and delegators would face a 21-day unstaking lockup period.
Recently, StarkWare has expanded its focus from just the Ethereum ecosystem to include the Bitcoin space as well, collaborating with notable Bitcoin developers on new features aimed at enhancing Bitcoin's programmability.
