Ethereum Foundation Plans to Sell 10,000 ETH Following SharpLink Transaction

The Ethereum Foundation is set to sell 10,000 ETH in the coming weeks to fund research, ecosystem grants, and donations.

Ethereum Foundation’s Upcoming ETH Sale

The Ethereum Foundation has announced its intention to divest 10,000 ETH through centralized exchanges over the next several weeks to fund various initiatives, including research and development, ecosystem grants, and charitable donations.

According to CoinMarketCap, this amount is approximately worth $43 million at current prices.

This announcement comes shortly after the Foundation’s introduction of a new treasury policy earlier in June, which places a limit on operational spending at 15% annually, sets up a multi-year reserve buffer, and aims for greater financial efficiency moving forward. Additionally, the Foundation previously sold another 10,000 ETH to SharpLink Gaming, which was notable as it marked the first instance of a publicly traded company purchasing ETH directly from the Ethereum ecosystem.

As of Tuesday, the price of ETH reached around $4,330, reflecting a 2% increase over the last 24 hours.
