Ondo Finance initiated its tokenized equity platform named Ondo Global Markets, enabling non-U.S. investors to access over a hundred U.S. stocks and ETFs on-chain. The launch on Ethereum is backed by securities from U.S.-registered broker-dealers. This offering includes tokens for major companies like Apple and Nvidia. Investors from multiple global regions can mint and redeem shares on a continuous basis, aligning with the underlying exchange liquidity, although this service is not available for users in the U.S.
According to Nathan Allman, the CEO of Ondo Finance, “We saw stablecoins export the U.S. dollar by bringing it on-chain, now Ondo Global Markets is doing the same thing for U.S. securities.” This move represents a growing momentum in the tokenization of real-world assets within the cryptocurrency market, aiming for wider access and liquidity.
