Bubblemaps Enhances Blockchain Analysis with AI for Token Transparency
The updated Bubblemaps app aims to enhance market transparency by revealing token ownership patterns and using AI to expose potential manipulation or centralization.
A revamped version of Bubblemaps, a blockchain analytics and visualization app, aims to help cryptocurrency investors identify significant market players (whales) using AI and other new features.
Bubblemaps launched in 2021 to simplify user understanding of the supply distributions for various digital assets. The latest update aims to enhance transparency in the crypto market by making token ownership patterns visible, which may indicate centralization or manipulation.
“On-chain data deserves more attention,” stated Bubblemaps CEO Nicolas Vaiman. “It is the lifeblood of the system. However, it is widely overlooked by the majority of crypto users because traditional tools are complex and overwhelming.”
Bubblemaps has shared research online, including a study showing how Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), a prominent venture capital firm, holds a significant amount of power over the UNI token for Uniswap, potentially affecting the project's direction.
Additionally, when influencers Andrew Tate and Iggy Azalea released tokens, Bubblemaps published findings that indicated these tokens were more centralized than advertised, emphasizing how creators of popular meme coins often obscure their ownership with multiple wallets.
What's New
The new Bubblemaps version presents top crypto token holders as nodes in a graphical format—"bubbles" reflecting ownership sizes. By analyzing transaction histories, the tool can identify connections between wallets to create groups that approximate individual entities.
The updated version introduces a "time machine" function to show token distribution changes over time, plus AI-optimized "magic nodes" to uncover relationships between addresses that older versions could not.
AI helps streamline data analysis, revealing previously hidden clusters in the prior Bubblemaps version.
Another key improvement in Bubblemaps V2 is cross-chain support, enabling analysis across multiple blockchains, which is crucial as assets like USDC and USDT exist on several chains.
Finally, Vaiman indicated that as Bubblemaps achieves its initial vision, the team will now focus on expanding support to new blockchains, beginning with Ethereum-compatible platforms and later integrating Solana and others.
