Crypto ETP Investments Surpass $48.7 Billion This Year, A New CoinShares Record
Crypto investment products have seen inflows surpassing last year's totals, with Bitcoin and Ether leading the way amidst shifting dominance.
The inflow of funds into crypto has already outperformed last year, with reported investments in global crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs) reaching $48.67 billion this year, surpassing the total recorded for 2024. Following recent data provided by CoinShares’ James Butterfill via an X post, the previous year’s inflow for crypto ETPs was noted at $48.557 billion.

Bitcoin products have shown significant gains, accumulating approximately $30 billion in year-to-date inflows, which is 62% of the total investments seen this year. However, the influence of Bitcoin has decreased when compared to 2024 where the fund exhibited inflows of $41.7 billion, representing around 86% of all inflows.
Ether (ETH) has demonstrated a remarkable increase compared to last year’s performance as well, exceeding its previous year’s totals of $4.9 billion by reaching $14.1 billion. This increased market share elevates Ether’s dominance from 11% last year to 29% currently.
Additionally, the altcoins Solana (SOL) and XRP are leading with inflows of $2.7 billion and $1.9 billion respectively.
The ongoing anticipation around regulatory decisions for multiple altcoin ETFs by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) suggests that significant events may be on the horizon for the crypto ETP market.
“Inflows into altcoins seem to be confined to SOL and XRP at present,” said James Butterfill. Translation: En los inflows hacia altcoins parece que actualmente se limitan a SOL y XRP.
