Monad Co-Founder Warns Users About Telegram Advertisement Scam Before Airdrop

Keone Hon, co-founder of Monad, alerts users regarding fraudulent ads appearing in their official Telegram channel.

Monad’s co-founder, Keone Hon, has expressed concerns over deceptive advertisements infiltrating their official Telegram announcements channel. In a recent post on X, he advised users to be cautious against links that appear like announcements from the project.

“Crazy that Telegram will push content directly into a channel that otherwise only contains content from one party,” said Hon.

This warning comes just ahead of the highly anticipated Monad airdrop set to begin at 1:00 PM UTC on Tuesday. Hon reminded users that it is essential to exercise patience and verify all actions carefully.

“Do not act with urgency, and always triple-verify before doing anything,” he cautioned, stressing that the portal for airdrop claims will remain open for three weeks.

Additionally, the mandatory compliance of these fake ads with Telegram’s guidelines is under scrutiny. They blatantly transgress various policies concerning deceptive content and phishing, which Telegram aims to combat.

While Telegram’s ad policies are stringent, the situation with Monad highlights an urgent need for improved verification measures to safeguard users from such scams.
