Chainalysis Names Jonathan Levin as New CEO

Crypto analytics firm Chainalysis promotes co-founder Jonathan Levin to the role of CEO following the departure of Michael Gronager.

What to Know

Crypto analytics company Chainalysis has appointed Jonathan Levin as its new CEO, succeeding Michael Gronager, who left the role in September.

Overview

Jonathan Levin now leads Chainalysis, a key player in providing crypto compliance software to both governments and corporations. The company helps in tracing the flow of digital currencies, stripping away the anonymity associated with cryptocurrencies.

Levin, previously the company's Chief Strategy Officer, stated, "Given the excitement in the market and Chainalysis's strong financial position, we need to lead for our clients and explore new opportunities."

He co-founded Chainalysis with Michael Gronager in 2014 and emphasized that the board felt it was time for a leadership change. In the interim, Sari Granat had been fulfilling CEO responsibilities. The board seat left vacant by Gronager is now held by Paul Auvil, taking charge as an independent director and audit committee chair.

Despite discussions about potential public listing, Levin did not provide specific details, stating his focus remains on developing the best solutions for the current market.
