Rumble Collaborates with Tether for Bitcoin Tipping Feature
Rumble is set to integrate Bitcoin tipping for its content creators with support from Tether, enhancing user engagement and revenue opportunities.
Rumble, the video-sharing platform, is gearing up to launch a Bitcoin tipping feature for its content creators, in collaboration with the stablecoin issuer Tether. This feature is anticipated to debut between early December and mid-December.
The CEO of Rumble, Chris Pavlovski, revealed this development during his presentation at the Plan ₿ Forum in Lugano, Switzerland. He mentioned that the platform currently is in a testing phase but expects to roll out the new feature shortly:
“Right now, we’re in the testing phase [but] we’re going to start rolling that out alongside Tether here in the coming weeks.”
Tether’s CEO, Paolo Ardoino, was also present and expressed optimism for a full implementation by mid-December, following some minor bug fixes and improvements to the user experience.
A recent post from Rumble showcased its first Bitcoin tip sent to David Freiheit, a former Canadian political candidate and a content creator on the platform. This moment is highlighted by Pavlovski as a historic achievement:
“A historic first at @LuganoPlanB — @thevivafrei became the first creator tipped through the Rumble Wallet. Freedom meets finance👊”
This Bitcoin tipping integration could significantly boost Bitcoin’s adoption in payments, especially considering Rumble’s substantial audience size and its alignment with anti-censorship values, which resonate strongly within the Bitcoin community.
Despite institutional interest driving the current bullish momentum for Bitcoin, mainstream adoption as a payment method remains limited, highlighting a gap that this new tipping feature aims to bridge.
Jack Dorsey, CEO of Block, has previously cautioned that without widespread usage in daily transactions, Bitcoin may fail to achieve its intended purpose as a peer-to-peer digital currency as envisioned by its creator Satoshi Nakamoto.
Potential of Bitcoin Tipping for Global Creators
Given that online video creation has become a dominant form of content consumption, Rumble offers a viable ecosystem for Bitcoin payments to flourish. Ardoino noted:
“Bitcoin and stablecoins can serve not only part of the population that is very dear to Tether, that is the emerging markets population, but also in the primary economy like the United States.”
“You can actually find use cases for Bitcoin and stablecoins that really are going to empower creators, and bring them the security of the fact that they will not be debanked for what they say.”
Furthermore, it’s worth mentioning that Tether previously injected $775 million into Rumble last December, indicating strong financial backing for the venture.
Rumble’s Steps in the Crypto Sphere
The platform is also collaborating with MoonPay to provide users with crypto wallets, facilitating easier Bitcoin tipping for content creators. Rumble has adopted a Bitcoin treasury strategy, having accumulated 210.8 Bitcoin valued at approximately $23.4 million, according to BitcoinTreasuries.NET.
