dYdX Set to Enter US Market by 2026: New Insights

Decentralized exchange dYdX anticipates launching spot trading for cryptocurrencies in the US market by the end of 2025.

Decentralized exchange dYdX is gearing up to make its entry into the US market by the end of 2025, as announced by President Eddie Zhang. The exchange plans to expand its offerings to include cryptocurrency spot trading, starting with Solana (SOL).

According to an article from Reuters, Zhang emphasized the importance of establishing a presence in the US, stating, “It’s very important for us as a platform to have something available in the United States, because I think it represents, hopefully, the direction we’re trying to move in.”

Spot Trading and Regulation
dYdX primarily focuses on perpetual futures trading, allowing users to speculate on cryptocurrency prices without needing to own them. Zhang referenced the favorable regulatory landscape under former President Donald Trump as a factor that influenced this strategic move.

The Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission indicated in September that they would contemplate bringing perpetual contracts to US traders.

Governance Vote Over Recent Outage
Earlier this week, dYdX announced an open vote for users affected by operational pauses during a market crash in early October, proposing compensation of $462,000 from its insurance fund.

Additionally, data show that the price of dYdX’s native token (DYDX) dropped by approximately 50% over the past month, falling from $0.60 to $0.30. Cointelegraph attempted to contact dYdX for comments but had not received a reply by the publication time.
