Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence venture, xAI, is currently seeking a cryptocurrency expert to aid in training its AI systems for digital asset market analysis.
A newly advertised job listing indicates that xAI is looking for a remote “Finance Expert – Crypto” to assist in teaching its models how professional cryptocurrency traders assess onchain data, understand tokenomics, and mitigate risks in fluctuating, always-active markets.
The description states:
“This includes generating high-quality data in text, voice, and video formats, such as detailed annotations, critiques of model outputs, reasoning traces, and explaining strategies orally alongside occasional structured video sessions.”
Additionally, the role involves identifying and addressing complex challenges within the crypto market, including fragmented liquidity and execution risks related to miner extractable value (MEV).

The Growing Intersection of AI and Cryptocurrency
Commenting on the job opening, Sumit Gupta, the CEO of CoinDCX, remarked that the listing illustrates the future merge of cryptocurrency and AI technologies.
“X is already the main platform where the crypto community engages. Elon Musk aims to position xAI as the leading research platform for crypto enthusiasts as well?” he noted on platform X.
The position is entirely remote with hourly rates between $45 and $100 based on the candidate’s experience and regional location.
In November, Musk announced plans for X to launch a separate encrypted messaging application called X Chat, anticipated to compete with services like Telegram and WhatsApp. Amid a discussion on The Joe Rogan Experience, Musk mentioned that this app would incorporate challenges relating to peer-to-peer encryption akin to Bitcoin.
