Robert Kiyosaki Faces Criticism for Conflicting Bitcoin Purchase Claims

Robert Kiyosaki, renowned author of 'Rich Dad Poor Dad', recently confronted backlash for contradictory statements regarding his Bitcoin investments.

The author of the bestselling book ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ has faced scrutiny after making controversial remarks regarding the timing of his Bitcoin purchases. Many community members are questioning his honesty, wondering if he misled them either now or throughout the years.

When Did Kiyosaki Lie?

Kiyosaki gained fame as a proponent of Bitcoin during the market downturn triggered by COVID-19, frequently urging people to invest not only in Bitcoin but also in gold and silver, and recently including Ethereum in his recommendations. He has publicly stated multiple times on social media that he has made purchases, including a claim on July 1, 2025, that he bought another Bitcoin at a time when prices hovered between $105,000 and $110,000.

However, he later asserted that he ceased buying Bitcoin when it cost $6,000, a price the cryptocurrency has not seen since mid-2020, shortly after the pandemic crash. This contradiction has raised flags among the vigilant crypto community, which is now accusing him of dishonesty.

“You’re such a lying grifter holy cow. You’ve been pumping all 3 of these non-stop daily for years and now you claim you were never buying?”

More Lies?

Further scrutiny highlighted past discrepancies in his investment advice, which led many to label him as a dishonest grifter. Grievances about various predictions and advice he provided over the years have resurfaced, fueling the ongoing debate among his critics and supporters alike.
