The XRP Ledger (XRPL) saw significant growth within its ecosystem during September 2025, characterized by innovative product releases, compliance enhancements, and active community engagement.
New Features and Compliance Developments
Notable progress was shared by Dan Fisher, the Community Relations Manager at XRPL, highlighting a streamlined onboarding guide for Joey Wallet that enhances new user access via integrations with MoonPay, First Ledger, and XRPCafe. The platform XRPScan also launched an amendment voting timeline to enhance transparency regarding validator activities, which includes details like the Token Escrow proposal.
Additionally, Xaman Wallet version 4.2.1 was released, removing trustline requirements for token transfers, simplifying sending tokens through Checks. The app now facilitates fiat-to-XRP transactions with its new MoonPay Sell addition.
On the compliance side, the Credentials amendment was implemented, introducing decentralized identity features to the ledger, promoting on-chain identity verification and interactions between users and institutions, exemplified by insights from Kenny Lei, an engineer at Ripple.
Moreover, Chainalysis expanded its support for all XRPL tokens, covering IOUs and NFTs, fostering a more robust ecosystem.
In the realms of DeFi and gaming, XRPL Commons has initiated collaborations with B3 and Peersyst to create Gamechain, an active gaming ecosystem on the XRPL EVM sidechain, now operating on testnet. The XRPL Commons Aquarium Residency unveiled its seventh cohort that champions DeFi innovation, inviting creators from eleven countries.
Donations and Community Initiatives
During this month, Ripple made headlines with a generous $25 million RLUSD donation aimed at supporting small businesses and veterans through the XRP Ledger. Furthermore, RippleX continues to drive institutional adoption with an updated DeFi Roadmap that integrates lending protocols and private transactions.
The community actively engaged in discussions around XRPL developments, including recent threads by Krippenreiter focusing on lending mechanics and operational changes to rename XRPL core software from rippled to xrpld for naming consistency.
Additional milestones encompassed Anodos releasing a bridge to facilitate transfers between XRPL and alternative networks, and First Ledger announcing a creator rewards initiative that lowers the qualification threshold for Tier 1 eligibility. Importantly, XRPL Commons introduced GLOW, a funding initiative aimed at supporting developer contributions.
The month concluded with the XRP Seoul 2025 event, gathering over 3,000 participants from more than 40 countries to explore XRPL advancements and opportunities.
