Trezor Unveils Quantum-Ready Trezor Safe 7 Bitcoin Wallet in Prague

Trezor launches the Trezor Safe 7, a cryptocurrency wallet designed for the quantum age, enhancing self-custody security.

In a notable event held in Prague, Trezor’s CEO, Matej Zak, unveiled the new Trezor Safe 7, billed as the future of self-custody cryptocurrency wallets.

Zak, who has guided Trezor since 2023, highlighted the innovative features of this launch, aiming to enhance security in the face of the impending quantum revolution.

The CEO emphasized the historical lessons learned from past economic turmoil, underlining the importance of safe asset storage. He pointed to the unfortunate events in Czechoslovakia last century when a government currency devaluation erased citizens’ savings.

“Not your keys, not your coins” has been Trezor’s mantra since its inception in 2013, assuring users of secure storage for their cryptocurrency offline.

The Trezor Safe 7 boasts features such as Bluetooth connectivity, total wireless charging capabilities, and a new 330mAh battery promising extended use. Furthermore, it sports a 2.5-inch color touchscreen that is 62% larger than its predecessor.

Danny Sanders, the company’s COO, referred to the new device as “the complete solution in self-custody.” The software, now renamed Trezor Suite, enhances performance and allows integration with popular wallets like MetaMask.

The Trezor team assured attendees of future quantum-ready protections, acknowledging the technology’s potential but also its current ambiguity in the crypto sector. “Although quantum computing is not a mainstream reality yet, the Trezor Safe 7 is prepared for when it becomes a part of daily life.”
