Rumble Collaborates with Tether to Introduce Bitcoin Tips for Creators
Rumble is partnering with Tether to enable Bitcoin tipping for its content creators, aimed for a rollout in December.
Rumble is set to introduce Bitcoin tipping for its over 51 million monthly active users thanks to a collaboration with Tether. This new feature is anticipated to roll out between early and mid-December, as revealed by CEO Chris Pavlovski at the Plan ₿ Forum in Lugano, Switzerland.
“Currently, we are in the testing phase, but we expect to start implementing this feature with Tether in the upcoming weeks.”
The integration could significantly enhance Bitcoin’s payment adoption, given Rumble’s sizable audience and its principles against censorship, which resonate well with the Bitcoin community.
Bitcoin, although gaining institutional traction, still struggles to achieve mainstream utilization for everyday transactions, as pointed out by Jack Dorsey, CEO of Block. Dorsey cautioned that without widespread use as a payment method, Bitcoin might not achieve its intended purpose as a decentralized electronic cash system.
Potential for Global Impact
Pavlovski highlighted that Rumble could foster a thriving environment for Bitcoin transactions due to its online video content platform.
“Both Bitcoin and stablecoins can support diverse populations across emerging markets, and even within primary economies like the United States.”
Ardoino stated,
“This integration provides opportunities that empower content creators and ensure they won’t face de-banking due to their expression.”
Additionally, Tether had previously invested $775 million into Rumble last December. Rumble continues to make strides in the cryptocurrency domain, collaborating with MoonPay to facilitate crypto wallets, simplifying the process for creators to accept Bitcoin tips, and implementing a Bitcoin treasury strategy that has accumulated 210.8 BTC valued at $23.4 million so far.
